Astangu - A secret underground world!

"A big thank-you to the guide of Matkafy Lantern Hikes! The Pipelife Eesti AS team took part in a memorable lantern hike on September 29, 2025, exploring the Tsar-era military ammunition depots in Astangu. It was a wonderful experience filled with fascinating new knowledge. Our guide had a great way with words — plenty of good humor and engaging stories that kept us entertained all evening. Mihkel, the guide, managed to turn even the most ordinary hill into an exciting story. Adding extra fun were the quiz-style questions along the way, and the guide was happy to answer additional ones too. The candlelit tea break was absolutely charming, and on the way back downhill, our group created a beautiful trail of lanterns. The guide was clearly passionate about his work and very knowledgeable. And to top it all off, the weather was perfect — a warm and dry autumn evening that set the ideal mood."
