There aren’t exactly many Soviet-era collective farms where the land has developed into a modern and successful Estonian municipality. Kiili was historically a border region of Jüri parish with a broadly insignificant village called Veneküla. Regardless, it became the centre of such a successful collective farm that the area was dubbed the “millionaire kolkhoz”! Kiili has undergone an even more incredible development in the last 30 years, turning it into a kind of a museum of urban planning. On this tour we’ll journey through the decades and view this very new urban environment from the perspective that future generations might have.
