The Port and Cruise Terminal – Wealth and Scandals Hand in Hand!
Have you ever stepped inside the grand Cruise Terminal, walked the entire length of the harbour promenade, or heard anything about Estonia’s “Holland” of navigable canals? If not, let’s fix that! We will step through doors that are usually closed to the public and take a look at both the splendour and hardship that have arrived by sea throughout the ages. After all, medieval Tallinn’s wealth came by sea - but unfortunately so did the plague, along with taverns and ladies of easy virtue. The harbour has been home to the Admiralty, warships, the Tallinn Shipyard, and famous Tsarist-era trading companies, but also to customs fraud, controversial liquor shops, the Porto Franco scandal, and the shock that followed the sinking of the Estonia. Today, however, the area is transforming into Talsinki, the Port of Tallinn has ambitious plans for the future, and the most magnificent cruise ships that an Estonian can see on their home shores are docking here.

"I would like to give a big shout-out to Mihkel for yesterday’s tour at Fahle City! ❤️ I think the biggest compliment I can give is that it went exactly the way I had imagined and hoped it would 😊 It was truly great — pleasantly humorous, informative, well-paced and perfectly on schedule. We have also received very positive initial feedback from our people. On top of that, quite a few people said they would love to organize a Matkafy Lantern Hike for their own team event and that they are even going to take a look at what other exciting tours you offer. 😉So, I am extremely happy and would like to thank Mihkel once again for the excellent cooperation!"
